8/6/2026.There
were two Currane boats out today, and sadly not a whisper of a C&R Salmon
or Sea Trout. You’d imagine, after the deluge we’ve had in recent days, that a
fresh Grilse might at least show a bit of manners, either to the fly or the
troll, or even just to boost morale. But no, the fish remained as elusive as a
politician’s straight answer.
Now to the Currane Anglers Weather Chart, a Fresh West wind ruled the day,
accompanied by solid cloud cover and a few hearty showers just to keep everyone
honest. The sun did make the odd cameo appearance, but only long enough to
remind us what we were missing. Yesterday’s weather: Rainfall: 8.8mm Max air
temperature: 14.3°C Sunshine, a mighty 0.6 minutes.
